Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

As much as possible on this trek we have tried to ensure that the walking is done from hotel to hotel, meaning that there is no need to be transported from or to a hotel each day and reduces the need for transportation journeys and their effect on the environment. When the luggage needs to be transferred we use the hotels or local companies to ensure that the driving required is kept to a minimum.
To get between the airport and the walking area we give information about the public transport route necessary to make the journey, booking tickets in advance where possible.
The Impacts of this Trip
All of our accommodations on this trek are of high quality chosen for their charm, location and friendliness. We have personally stayed in or visited all of our accommodations. They have all been selected for their great locations, friendly atmosphere and traditional hospitality, as well as the warm welcome they offer to walkers. Most of the hotels we use on our Els Ports and The Three Kingdoms trek are small and family run enabling these establishments to continue into the future. They are the establishments which are most in need of the tourism income and their ability to continue their success is important to this area.
We also arrange for our clients to eat either at the hotels or at small local restaurants, again keeping the income in the small towns and villages where they stay overnight. We also use either the hotel, local companies or local taxi companies for the luggage and people transfers necessary for this trek.
We provide all of our clients with a list of phrases in Spanish which they can use on their holiday. This can not just help in situations where they meet non-English speakers but can be a pleasant way to break the ice when arriving at a hotel or restaurant.
