Mountain biking holidays in Europe

Carbon reduction

Your holiday will help support local people and conservation. We must also reduce CO2. Learn about the CO2 emissions of this holiday and how to reduce them.

During this biking tour, our main transport vehicle is a bike. We really work on minimizing our impact on nature and natural environment, by using bikes as frequently as possible. In between, we use one minivan, that helps us transport the equipment, luggage and guests according to our itinerary.

We only use already marked trails for biking, thus looking to not disturb the wildlife around us and keep the natural environment like it was.

During our biking trips, we promote plastic-free behavior, therefore we always suggest to bring refillable water bottles on trips. Also, as water in Slovenia is very clean, we always stop by the road, where there is a chance, to refill the bottles with fresh water.

While biking we need a lot of energy, therefore we eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, which are a great source of vitamins for our body. We try to eat organic products, which are produced locally, so we stop by the local market wherever possible. Luckily, in Slovenia, you can find most of the food produced at home, so most of the food we consume is fresh and nutritious. That way, we also contribute to the local economy and help smaller farmers keep their businesses.

Even though we live in a country that is blessed with natural goods, fresh air, and fresh water, we are already feeling the consequences of climate change as well. As we all know, tourism can be a huge producer of emissions, that pollute the environment, so we try to promote sustainable traveling, by informing our guests of recycling rules, waste management, water and food conservation, and on ecological behavior in general. If everyone does something good, we are on a good way towards improvement!

All our trips are organized and guided by local guides with necessary licenses. That way we promote opportunities for the local workforce, keep the know-how in the country and provide work experience for the youth who would, later on, want to make a career in tourism.

We also volunteer and participate in the organization of various events, that promote a healthy lifestyle and everyday sport.

In the middle of this trip, we also ride on Golovec trails, which are located just outside of the capital Ljubljana. Every spring, at the beginning of the biking season, we help maintain and repair those trails, so they can be freely and safely used by everyone. This way we are trying to help the local biking community.
