1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
David and Suzie helped us get to grips with sea kayaking in a very supportive way - we had never been in kayaks before and they made it very easy and
enjoyable as soon as we set off. Visiting coves which you could only access from the sea was great and we saw the coastline in a way which you can only do
from the sea. Being following by a seal for a few minutes also was quite a thrill! Sea kayaking is a great experience.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Just go for it - you will be with great people and if you like the outdoors it is a lot of fun. David and Suzie are passionate about what they do and that really
comes through.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes - we ate locally and David and Suzie take a lot of care to minimise impacts.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
An excellent short holiday - incredible coastline, fantastic kayaking with knowledgeable, experienced and friendly hosts. Happy to fit the days out to all levels of ability and/or fitness. Great accommodation in a beautiful area.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Obviously a sea kayaking holiday is very weather/wind dependent. Be prepared to be flexible with routes and lengths of trips and just enjoy the experience. Better to take a small waterproof / resistant camera than use your phone (on the water). Very easy access from London and elsewhere in the train.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, the hosts Dave and Susie were excellent in this respect. Accommodation was all environmentally friendly and low impact, food was healthy and locally sourced (where possible), plenty of opportunity for recycling food and other waste was provided. But perhaps best of all, on all the beaches we visited as part of the day trips out kayaking, a short period of time was suggested for collecting plastic (and other waste) off of the beaches we landed on - some can only be accessed by sea so any effort to keep them clean by people who visit is essential.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent, one of the best long weekends I have had in years. Great sea kayaking with friendly and very useful instruction (if wanted), amazing scenery and coastline, very new and appropriate equipment (kayaks and accessories), good food, lovely accommodation and charming and interesting host - would thoroughly recommend either a weekend, or as an alternative booking the barn accommodation for a week (but very popular).

Sea Kayaking is the lowest impact way of exploring the coastline and river estuaries of south Devon. We only take out small groups on our Sea kayaking trips to minimise the impact we have on the beaches, covers and side estuaries we visit. We aim to contribute to the preservation of the natural environments we visit by viewing nature in its natural habitat without disturbing, displacing or damaging it and even more importantly our aim is to leave the beaches, coves and other marine environments we visit in a better condition than when we arrived. We do this by encouraging our visitors to collect and taking away at least one piece (or more) of plastic pollution every time we land.
Our Farm house is our home, office and work place. Combining all three allows us to minimise the negative impacts our operations may have on the local environment.
South Devon has a wonderful coastal environment. Torbay has sheltered waters, beaches and rocky coves. The coastline is a UNESCO Global Geo park and home to the sea grass beds which are the breeding grounds of our native species of seahorse.
If you are interested in wildlife the Dart Estuary between Totnes and Dartmouth is the place. Seals, Cormorants, Little Egrets, Kingfishers, Herons and a wide variety of seabirds are often seen as we paddle or drift along with the tide in amongst the reed beds and remote side creeks.
The South Hams coastline is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has a rugged coastline, sea caves, headlands and exposed cliffs for the more adventurous. No doubt we will spot seals and if we are lucky we may see Porpoise, sunfish and dolphins and in recent years humpbacked whales have summered along this coastline.
People
We are very keen to provide guests with information about local markets, traditional artisans and restaurants and shops with locally sourced produce as well as information about local projects with environmental and social benefits to the area. Our local town, Totnes is the original transition town based on which transition initiatives have been started in locations all around the world.
We only employ local, experienced Sea kayaking guides with knowledge of the local coast and river estuaries.
Set in a 15th Century Orchard, guests stay with us in our Weaving Workshop cabin and Barn House which have both been recently renovated. Susie is a weaver specialising in linen. From seed to cloth, we grow flax in our orchard which we harvest and process for Susie to spin into linen before weaving it into linen artwork and cushions. For any guests that are interested we are more than happy to show them around the process.
