Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

The cabins where you will stay are built out of deadwood logs to last over 100 years. CO2-free nuclear electricity is used for electricity and emissions are compensated. No dispensible products are used in catering, local vegetables and game are favoured in cooking. Guests are informed about environmental impact of their actions. This company was awarded by the Green Key environmental certificate. All cabins are luxurious and offer a unique view over the lake in order to make it possible to enjoy nature.
Activities chosen in this tour package are all man-driven. The clients can choose between canoeing, horse riding, stand-up paddling, hiking, cycling and rowing. An early-morning hike on the top of the Hawkhill offers a magical view over the large forest areas. In Helsinki we either cycle or walk around the city.
The Impacts of this Trip
The company, who owns and runs the log cabins is a family company in the third generation. The cabins are only a short bike ride away from the childhood home of the owners. Their grandfather built the first cabins himself and their father continued the construction work. The oldest cabins have been rebuilt by the youngest generation and the newest one will be ready by May this year. Small family-owned companies of the area form a network so for providing activities we also use other local companies.
A speciality on this tour is an evening when we hear stories about Finnish mythology, listen to some folk music and get another campfire meal out of local ingredients in a row. On the way from the cabin to Helsinki we'll visit a local strawberry farm and if you want, you can pick up berries yourself like the locals do at this time of summer.
In Helsinki, our guests will get to know some history of Finland in the Swedish and Russian era, hear about life during the time of independence and in present Nordic welfare society when visiting the new city library Oodi.
