Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

Before starting our days in the sea, we do a briefing for the overall day and we touch in areas such as the management of personal rubbish, toilet, picking plastics up from the beach and the sea and spotting any wildlife that may require assistance.
We ask participants to use refillable containers for their water rather than buy water bottles everyday. If everyone does this during our weekends, we will save in the use of over 100 bottles.
We reduce transport emissions and parking problems by supplying group transport. That way instead of having upwards of 8 cars driving around, we group everyone in the van and also put our trailer to carry the kayaks when there is need to move to different areas of the island.
The Impacts of this Trip
At the Isle of Wight, we work with small businesses that have been in the community for many years. Some of them, such as our lead instructor, supports and occasionally works with the marine rescue services of the area on a volunteer basis.
During two of the nights that we are on the island, we take our guests out for dinner at local independent pubs owned and operated by local families which are set in outstanding natural surroundings. They prepare traditional hearty meals with local produce both from the farms nearby farms as well as that brought in by the fishermen.
For meetings and briefings, we use local cafes rather than chains. At our base in Freshwater, we frequent the Lifeboat cafe to both shop and buy hot drinks during our lunch breaks. These small contributions go to support the work of the Lifeboat which provides such a vital emergency service for those at sea.
Our lead instructor is local to the island and has had a business there for many years which means that he knows the island and its seas inside out and can provide local knowledge of the best spots to go depending on weather conditions on the day.
