Sea kayaking short break in Dorset
Description of Sea kayaking short break in Dorset
This trip can be tailor made throughout the year to suit your requirements
We can cater for vegetarian and vegan diets.
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetOur kayaking activity is very low impact and has a very small carbon footprint. We do not produce any pollution during our activities and we also help clear away environmentally damaging items such as discarded nets and plastics. We are ideally placed to pick up plastics from the sea and from beaches that have no road access, we spend time during our lunch breaks cleaning beaches and, of course, we carry away our own rubbish to dispose of it appropriately. We also pick up any plastics we find floating in the sea.
Before starting our days in the sea, we do a briefing for the overall day and we touch in areas such as the management of personal rubbish, toilet, picking plastics up from the beach and the sea and spotting any wildlife that may require assistance.
We ask participants to use refillable containers for their water rather than buy water bottles everyday. If everyone does this during our weekends, we will save in the use of over 100 bottles.
PeopleWe recommend local restaurants for our guests which are owned and operated by local families and set in outstanding natural surroundings. They prepare traditional hearty meals with local produce both from the farms nearby as well as that brought in by the fishermen. We work with local coaches and instructors who are either from the area or have been based there for many years. This ensures that our groups have the best and more in-depth experience led by people who understand the area, the sea conditions and where to make the most of the days that you will spend with them. For kayaking, it is very important to be guided by people who know the area very well and will understand your needs and how to make sure you have the best possible time.
For morning meetings and briefings, we use local cafes rather than chains. As the weather and tide conditions can vary greatly from one coast to another, we normally visit different parts of the area and use their businesses.
