Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

Most of Slovenia is under Natura 2000, so it is in a way preserved against human impact. In Slovenia, major ski resorts are located hight enough, that their normal season lasts for 5 months, starting in December and finishing in April. We always try to adapt our ski package to the actual snow conditions at that time, so that the clients have the best holidays possible! As this is a ski holiday, we use chairlifts and gondolas, however, most of them already work on solar energy. We also promote additional activities, such as ski touring or sledging, that do not require any infrastructure or artificial snow and have min negative impact on nature.
We only do this trip when the snow season starts and as we have the possibility to change resorts daily according to the forecast, we can move to the resorts that are snow available. Also, as this is a skiing trip, we do not normally provide extra activities, however sledging or snowshoeing can be organized on request, and of course indoor activities for families.
We always communicate with our guests about “green actions” that can be done on a daily bases and which can hugely impact the fight against climate change. Luckily, Slovenia is a country which promotes recycling, therefore different litter bins for plastic, glass, paper, food can be found almost everywhere. So, we encourage our guest to recycle during their stay in Slovenia.
We also promote locally produced food, by telling our guest about local markets, local restaurant, and dishes. We try to ensure that dishes during the holidays are made using locally sourced ingredients, very often just from the nearby valleys or small towns. We also tell them about Slovenian traditions, promote local culture and habits, so guest can get the pristine feeling of our country.
The Impacts of this Trip
Fun fact, skiing in Slovenia has a really long tradition and is considered as a national sport. During the years it has evolved a lot, however, we always try to include some historical reminders in the itineraries for our guest.
We only employ local guides, who also know the resorts by heart and thus can provide the best snow experience for everyone. As winter enthusiasts themselves, they always try to pass their love for the winter, nature, and Slovenia onto our guests.
Also, all the other suppliers we use, have a long-standing tradition of working in the tourism field and thus understand the importance of sustainable tourism. We use small, local transport providers and family-run hotels that are the best presentation of our country. That way we ensure that tourism income is spread to as many local suppliers as possibly distributing the benefits of tourism locally.
As a nation, we are quite “green-oriented” and we love to share our knowledge about responsible tourism and green initiatives to tourists!
