Victoria Falls & Zambia family safari
Description of Victoria Falls & Zambia family safari
This trip can be tailor made throughout the year to suit your requirements
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetThe properties that we support are sustainable properties and provide eco-friendly amenities that have a limited impact on their direct environment.
Sussi & Chuma sanctuary has new interiors have all the organic materials that were sourced responsibly. The accommodation educates the local Village with events and workshops and excursions on how to appreciate and protected wildlife. The in-house Spa uses products made from indigenous plants including Rooibos and Aloe, they are tested to EU standards.
We ensure wildlife is protected as all children on our tours are educated on conservation and sustainability. We do this by offering for e.g. Junior Rangers Programme which provides an understanding of conservation and the importance of preserving our environment.
Partnering with various companies that are aligned to eco-tourism ensures that we are a truly responsible tourism company as they have environmental grading systems and causes.
The park is part of a World Heritage Site and part of the Trans frontier Conservation Area. Wildlife seen on this trip could be elephant, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, wildebeest, zebra, waterbuck, impala, bushbuck, warthog, Big 5 and antelope - we never chase these animals and they are observed from a distance which ensures that they are not disturbed.
Our office practices recycling as we have 3 recycle bins for paper, plastic and glass where all recycling goods are thrown. This is collected once a month.
We encourage you to reduce, re-use and recycle too.
PeopleWe use properties that support their local community.
We choose eco-sensitive properties that have a limited impact on their direct environment and encourage guests to be aware of their consumption of natural resources.
Sussi and Chuma supports the Nakatindi Village which positively impacts lives and livelihoods at the household level. They do a lot of philanthropic work at Nakatindi.
We recommend you visit the Chipego Bike Shop where you can then hire a bicycle and tour the village by foot or bike and you can visit the local clinic or marketplace thereby supporting the Village too. They have refurbished the local school, built a school kitchen and also expanded the school's vegetable garden as the provide lunches to 850 students. Also built a local clinic which serves 50 people a day. Also donate bicycles which can be hired at the Chipego Bike Shop, a portion of these profits goes back to the local community for various projects.
We support cultural tours which build cultural awareness and respect for others. In this tour you will go on a local Village tour to learn more about the local community. We ask that you do not take photographs without first asking permission. Respect their wishes should they decline.
A lot of our suppliers are members of Pack for a Purpose which encourages travelers to pack supplies to donate to community projects.
We encourage you to visit the town of Livingstone where you can shop at the curio market for a souvenir to take home, thereby supporting the local community.
You will be provided with responsible tourism guide 70 days prior to departure
