Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
We understand that the nature is for everyone and it needs to be appreciated. As a part of this tour we take you for example to our wilderness cabin which is an area full of wildlife. We show you personally how to appreciate the wilderness and for example each piece of food that is not consumed is carried back from the forest along with all the trash. Also in the wilderness cabin we cook on open fire as the house has no electricity. And as much as possible the food we cater you is locally sourced. We also only use the absolute minimum amount of transportation needed for this tour: In each of our locations the main way of moving is on foot. In Lapland nature is literally our grand jewel with fresh waters, slowly growing trees and surrounding berries. In our philosophy this means not wasting anything and using only what is necessary. For example we only use tap water as it is the absolute highest quality in the World: That makes also the refilling process easy during our journey.
We want to stand on the front line in nature and outdoor tourism and to show other travel companies the meaning of sustainable tourism.
People
We work only with partners that are hand-selected, service oriented and 100% local. We believe each service has to benefit locals to improve the quality and the level of service in the area. In Lapland service industry and tourism are young industries and they need to be approached with a long-term vision. A big part of Lappish culture is calmness, peacefulness and respect towards your fellow locals: This shows in our tours which are tailor-made for individuals and small groups in order to achieve this goal better. The accommodations, restaurants and souvenir shops we use are all run by locals. We also want to support the local pensioners´ organizations and the preservation of Sami culture by donating a part of our profits to these organizations from all of our future tours in Lapland.
A prime example of our philosophy are souvenirs: We always offer each of our guest a local, handmade souvenir. As we know our partners and their suppliers well, we can also provide you with the absolute best pieces of Lapland possible. In our mind souvenirs are always meant to represent the area and they also need to last for a long period of time.
