Swiss Alps short break
Description of Swiss Alps short break
This trip can be tailor made throughout the year to suit your requirements
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetWe understand that the nature is for everyone and it needs to be appreciated. As a part of this tour we take you unique locations away from the masses for your personal time. We show you personally what locality means in the Alpine settings and we want to support only family run businesses that have been in particular area for many generations. Also our year-around approach does not burden any certain tourism seasons as we support local hotels and service providers also in the more quiet months.
We also only use the absolute minimum amount of transportation needed for this tour: In each of our locations the main way of moving is on foot and we utilize the already superior way of commuting, the train. By acting this way the total amount of transportation within the country never increases. In Switzerland nature is literally our grand jewel with fresh waters and area wise country is small and restricted. In our philosophy this means not wasting anything, preserving energy and using only what is necessary. For example the cheeses, other dairy products and the meat is as much local as possible. Recycling is on another level in Switzerland and we show each of our guest how that functions in real life.
We want to stand on the front line in nature and outdoor tourism and to show other travel companies the meaning of sustainable tourism.
PeopleWe work only with partners that are hand-selected, service oriented and 100% local. We believe each service has to benefit locals to improve the quality and the level of service in the area. In Switzerland service industry and tourism have long and established roots and that history must be preserved with locality in mind. A big part of Swiss culture is family, togetherness and respect towards your fellow locals: This shows in our tours which are tailor-made for individuals and small groups in order to achieve this goal better.
Supporting the community in our minds means visiting locally owned restaurants, cheese factories with local workers and especially meeting people who live the Alpine life year-around. We show interest towards the local life, talk to locals and always give time to stay in a specific location for a longer time.
A prime example of our philosophy are souvenirs: We always offer each of our guest a local, handmade souvenir. As we know our partners and their suppliers well, we can also provide you with the absolute best pieces of Switzerland possible. In our mind souvenirs are always meant to represent the area and they also need to last for a long period of time.
