Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

Pedal power is, of course, one of the most environmentally friendly ways to travel, meaning that your holiday is a low impact option. We walk and cycle on marked paths wherever possible and don’t leave any rubbish, not even fruit residues as it can attract wild animals. The tour leaders further help to reduce the amount of waste the group produces by encouraging the use of personal bottles and refilling them rather than using multiple single use plastic bottles per day.
As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.

The Impacts of this Trip
On this trip through the Balkans we aim to see the highlights and also less visited areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro. The majority of the hotels we use are family run and our hoteliers work actively with the local community to source traditional locally produced foods– something we are sure you’ll enjoy!
On this cycling holiday in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro you will have a chance to taste some homemade fruit brandy (plumb, grape, pear), local herbal infusions, cheese and prosciutto. You can support the local community by purchasing from the locals some homemade liqueurs (walnut, sour cherry, and honey), local honey, fruit jams or wine.
Our local travel partner employs people from all over the region, from bus drivers to local guides. We also use locally owned and run hotels and transport companies to facilitate this trip ensuring as much money as possible generated from our visit goes back to the local community.
As a company we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of the UK travel industry body AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators.
