As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetThis tour is created in order to use also the other way of our guide driving from Rovaniemi to Tromso to pick up clients. Also, a public bus will be used as a means of transportation and the timing has been planned so that it fits the timetables of direct UK flights. It will start by e-snowmobiling in Rovaniemi. Electrical snowmobile safaris are silent and use electricity rather than gasoline as their source of power. Next stop is Pallas National park where the group will visit a Nature Centre, learn about the nature of Ylläs-Pallas National park and take a short snowshoeing trip. They will take a husky safari provided by Hetta Huskies committed to operating with a longterm sustainability focus minimising the environmental footprint of their actions. The last destination is a reindeer farm where reindeer are rambling free and nature around is wider open so you can strongly feel, how small an individual is and how big is the nature around us.
PeopleA local guide-driver is taking the group from Rovaniemi until Hetta by a van so they can and will stop in destinations like Pallas where it would otherwise be hard to get. Pallas is the first and most nostalgic ski hotel in Finland opened in 1938 and rebuilt after the war. We take you very far north to experience the true meaning of Lapland where you can see miles away but hear nothing but complete silence. You will stay at a reindeer farm where Sámi reindeer herder Nils-Matti Vasara lives in 13th generation. You can observe life of reindeer rambling ree all over the farm and try traditional way of winter fishing called "pilkki", kick-sledging as well as children's fun, a sledge taking you all-around. In this region, there are not only Sámi people living but also Finns who have settled here a long time ago. We try to use local services whenever possible and bring extra incomes for this frontier community. You will also be served a Lappish dinner in Goathi, a Sámi hut, around a blazing fire.
