Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
Another of our concerns is leaving no trace – from using planned riding routes to ensure that our adventures will not have a negative impact on the physical environment to fastidiously clearing up after all activities and excursions. By planning our routes, sticking to established trails and taking all of our waste away with us we can ensure that the impact of our presence is nominal. We encourage and facilitate the recycling or paper, glass and plastics. We encourage the use of our minibus vehicles during holidays so that our affect on road traffic and pollution is reduced. We also strongly recommend the much greener train option to travel here; there is a direct service from London to Avignon on a Saturday and a one-stop service on all other days. We are committed to responsible travel and request feedback from our guests in order to continually improve our service and performance.
we promise to continually improve our environmental performance in terms of the way we dispose of waste and the amount of energy, water and other resources we consume.
People
One of our primary focuses within the realms of responsible travel is giving back to the local community; we aim to use 100% locally owned businesses for all of our external requirements. These include all of our activity suppliers for canoe rental, bike hire, horse riding, high roping, etc.Our short breaks have many options for accommodation and activities. Each external supplier that we use for these is a locally run business and contributes directly to the town. Our walks and sightseeing trips are planned in order to coincide with local markets and points of historical interest.
Local economy is well supported in France and even chain supermarkets supply local crop – from wine to fresh goods like eggs and fruit & vegetables, produce is placed into a cooperative; so by shopping in town clients will be supporting the community. We encourage guests to visit the markets for a chance to immerse themselves in French culture and to meet the local producers.
We do this not only because it is good for the region economically but because we feel that is will give the local population a chance to represent itself to visitors.
