Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
Food and markets are an elemental component to life in Spain and have shaped the identity of the Mediterranean coast. So you blend right in, we will provide you with a tote bag; you can not miss one of the best public markets in Europe (Yes, Valencia). It would just be a shame to miss it, so it would using plastic to store all those delicious things we can get. We will also remind you to bring your water bottle with you, tap water is fine, so let's refill. Another thing we must keep in mind is to be cautious with water consumption, as parts of the Spanish Mediterranean coast do suffer from draughts and water is just a precious resource. Following these little suggestions and our digital maps...yes, we do not use paper, all the material we will provide you with will be digital. We all have phones and tablets, don't we? Going back to that, following our digital maps will take you to the most interesting places and corners where locals go. Just one more thing, let's start practising some Spanish (it will help). Hasta pronto!Public transport is a key point in our experiences. We do not only want to do the right thing but we want you to feel like a local and become part of the social fabric. We will also walk and cycle a lot; there is no better way to discover Valencia and the little towns along the Mediterranean coast. We also collaborate with the Travel Foundation and support their research and projects through donations. They do a great job by working with different destinations to improve their tourism models and energy efficiency is amongst their concerns.
People
It is no secret the Mediterranean is one of the most beautiful parts of Europe and one of the most visited. Despite tourism being an economic driver for many countries in the region, numbers of tourists have also taken cities like Venice or Barcelona to the edge of social disruption. We have picked Valencia as our base for our Mediterranean discovery. Spain's 3rd city offers everything you need while providing a personal, original and authentic experience. This journey will be led by a local host; someone who knows and understands what hides behind the obvious.
Our local guides will also be part of the formula and they will share their love and passion for their homeland. Join them and learn how to cook a Valencian paella on wood-fire at an eco-farm, learn the secrets of artisanal fishing or discover the local wine region of Requena. You can be sure of one thing, your money will go to small/locally owned business.
