Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
We understand as a team that in tourism we must protect the locations we visit and promote, as we have a moral obligation to them. Therefore, we have decided to collaborate with the Travel Foundation and support their research and projects through a donation for every tour we sell. They do not only provide destinations with improvements to minimize their environmental impacts but also reduce social disruptions. From minute one, we will encourage our guests to minimize our negative environmental impacts. We only deliver information digitally (so do not expect much paper from us), we will provide you with a tote bag so we shop at local markets and fight that thing called, plastic. We will also invite you to use bring/get your own water bottle so you can refill it.
Hey, not one of our team members owns a car, so we are experts when it comes to public transportation but we will tell you more below. We are aware that mobility within tourism represents a challenge and that's why we walk or take public transport everywhere possible. Apart from being the right thing to do it is a way to explore places you would otherwise miss and further understand daily life in Portugal.
People
The whole point of our experiences is to show you and help you understand the places we visit from a locals perspective. How do we do that? Well, to start with, your host is local; someone born and raised in Porto or someone who loves it so much that has decided to make it its home and become a "tripeiro" (you will find out what that means).Forget about chains and tourist traps, we will show you what makes the north of Portugal unique. From the family-owned restaurants where codfish recipes are a secret to the local guides who live and breathe their region, everything will be authentic. Oh, we will also get to discover some of Porto's sights at night when we can explore at our own pace without crowds - Locals will also appreciate this. Furthermore, by "going around and beyond" our chosen we will be distributing income across the region.
