Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
We are a company committed to reducing the negative environmental impact of tourism. How do we do it? Well, to start with, we have decided to minimize paper use and most of our material is now digital. Plastic is another material we are not very good friends with and that's why we encourage having a re-usable water bottle with you, as the quality of tap water in Poland is excellent. Reusable bags (we will give you a cool tote bag) for shopping at local markets, avoiding plastic straws and unnecessary plastic wrapping are other little things you can expect. Recycling at our flats, turning lights off and being conscious about water consumption are a given. Are they not? By the way, we encourage you to mention these little initiatives during your encounters with locals, as it will show respect for the destination and you will be leading by example.During this experience, we will be walking, cycling and using public transport. We are a team of like-minded individuals that share a passion for discovering new cultures and people. We also have in common one curious thing, not one of us owns a car! We did not plan for this but it is obvious we share the same values and we pass those onto our tours.
Finally, we will be making a donation on your behalf to the Travel Foundation so their projects and research keep running and improving destinations and they can keep making tourism and sustainable industry.
People
Poland is a beautiful country that has suffered a lot throughout its history. One of the best things we can do is caring for their traditions, culture and understanding their history. A local host will help you with this throughout your adventure, as well as local guides, that will contribute with passion, knowledge and love for the country and region. Locally owned and independent business will benefit from our adventure, as it is the right thing to do but also provides a way better experience. All these little markets, restaurants, grocery stores and shops are full of character and will provide another opportunity to get in contact with locals and their daily life.We would like to highlight that you will be able to learn more about the Jewish community and its relationship with the region throughout history with someone who truly understands it. Daughter of ethnologists, history lover and a philologist, Annita, is the right person to help you better understand this area.
Exploring different neighbourhoods of Krakow and other towns in southern Poland is also key for us, as we will be spreading income and visitor numbers across the region. By doing so, we will not only have a deeper experience but we will be part of the solution against over-tourism.
As we mentioned before, spreading all these initiatives with others you encounter is important. All the difficulties this country has suffered did not leave room for many other concerns than daily life and modern environmental and social issues have only started to be considered by many. Be respectful, friendly and share the love.
