Planet
Travel has the power to transform not only the traveler but also our world. This belief forms the foundation of our business. We have a deep commitment to protecting and preserving the destinations we visit and building a better world through sustainable travel. We encourage travelers to reduce waste and water consumption wherever possible, specifically by providing opportunities to utilize refillable water bottles and providing canvas totes for shopping to reduce the number of plastic bags. Limiting water usage by actions like taking shorter showers and declining bedding changes can be very beneficial, specifically in the Gurung community where travelers will stay in local teahouses.
For our tours to Nepal, we reserve a portion of the tours to support the World Resources Institute. WRI’s mission is to move human society to live in ways that protect Earth’s environment and its capacity to provide for the needs and aspirations of current and future generations. In Nepal, WRI engages in electricity governance, climate adaptation, and finance tracking.
We operate on a completely paperless basis when communicating with clients and our contacts on the ground, recycle all plastic bottles from the tours, and invest in the conservation of local forests. Tour guides in Nepal teach the travellers to stay on the paths, as to not disturb the local flora and fauna.
There are several walking tours and hikes during within this itinerary. Not only is this a great way to see the sights in a more intimate way, but also a way to keep the emissions per traveler down.

Travelers in this itinerary stay two nights in the Palpa Community Homestay program. These homestays are operated by local families to allow you to connect with them through conversation and great food. All benefits through the nonprofit homestay program go directly back to the residents and provides supplemental income for families.
Our ground partner promotes women's empowerment and leadership. They provide training and development for women to become trekking guides in Nepal. A portion of revenue from our trips also goes to a non-profit supporting working mothers in the country.
