1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Star gazing Mt Tiede and the hike at Anaga forrest. Cave of the wind was unique and educational.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Santa Cruz has a lot to do and there is a good balance of down time to do other things. You should be in good physical condition for the hike. Use the local tram & buses to get around. Easy, on time & cheaper option.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

This was a great trip. I recommend staying an extra few days to see more of the island. Guide was superb & food is amazing. They take you to local places.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

It is difficult to chose. We loved it all - from the fantastic food to the great walks and the stargazing. And a great host.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Some of the activities required a reasonable level of fitness and certainly good hiking shoes. The transport system is good. You can get a bus if travelling from Tenerife South Airport and get a discount card from the bus kiosks. There is not much information about this at the airport.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes we used local transport and local guides.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We had a fantastic time and thank the tour operator for arranging it for us.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

Food and markets are an elemental component to life in Spain and have shaped the identity of the country. So you blend right in, we will provide you with a tote bag; you can not miss one of the "Nuestra Senora de Africa" Market where 3 continents are represented by the diversity of products it offers. It would just be a shame to miss it, so it would using plastic to store all those delicious things we can get. We will also remind you to bring your water bottle with you, tap water is fine, so let's refill. Another thing we must keep in mind is to be cautious with water consumption, as archipelagos do suffer from draughts and water is just a precious resource. Following these little suggestions and our digital maps...yes, we do not use paper, all the material we will provide you with will be digital. Going back to that, following our digital maps will take you to the most interesting places and corners where locals go. Just one more thing, let's start practising some Spanish (it will help). Hasta pronto!

Public transport is a key point in our experiences. We do not only want to do the right thing but we want you to feel like a local and become part of the social fabric. We will also walk and cycle a lot; there is no better way to discover Tenerife and the little towns along the northern side of the island.

People

It is no secret the Canary Islands are some of the most beautiful islands in the continent and some of the most visited. Despite tourism being an economic driver in the region, numbers of tourists have also put pressure on local communities resulting in social disruption.

We have picked Santa Cruz de Tenerife as our base for our Canary Island adventure. This town offers everything you need while providing a personal, original and authentic experience, as well as great access to all the natural beauty Tenerife has to offer. This journey will be led by a local host; someone who knows and understands what hides behind the obvious. We will really show you what this island is beyond the sun and beaches, something locals do appreciate!

Our local guides will also be part of the formula and they will share their love and passion for their homeland. Join them and learn their cultural relationship with Europe and America, visit "guachinches", the most local eateries on the island and find out why the local carnival is such a big deal for "chicharreros". You can be sure of one thing, your money will go to small/locally owned business.
