Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

We have in depth responsible travel guidelines on our website which all customers have access to. These documents include guidelines and tips on how to travel responsibly and do your part when in a new destination that may not have access to the same resources as you do back home. While in Thailand, we encourage all customers to switch off all electricity and air-conditioning when it is not necessary to have on, take short showers when possible and ensure that you do not have your bedding and towels changed daily in the accommodation. We also make it known that littering on our tours is unacceptable and if there is no bin available, customers are asked to keep their litter on them until they return to the accommodation.
Transport: This tour uses an overnight train to get from Bangkok to Khao Sok National Park. Train travel is a great way to get around Thailand and not only does it provide a wonderfully authentic experience, but this form of travel is also one of the most environmentally friendly and makes uses of the destinations existing infrastructure instead of introducing unnecessary gas-guzzling coaches to transport our group. When in each destination, the tour leader will provide a walking orientation for the group. Walking is the single best way to keep your carbon footprint low and also one of the best ways to appreciate and see a location at a slow pace.
Meals: While in Thailand our tour leaders encourage our customers to eat locally sourced produce and eat in smaller restaurants, avoiding larger international chains that offer international produce that is likely to have been imported. Not only does eating locally support the farmers and food producers within Thailand, but internationally shipped produce comes with a very high carbon footprint.
The Impacts of this Trip
One of the principle aims of our responsible travel policy is to support local economies. We strive to create itineraries that offer opportunities for travellers to engage with local communities in Thailand. The benefit of this is twofold, more funds from this tour are spent in the local economy and therefore have a direct and positive impact on local communities and businesses and our travellers gain a genuine insight into a region and its people.
Travelling with Respect: This trip visits three unique locations in Thailand and customers are likely to come across various local communities, residents and staff working in the hospitality industry. Things may not operate as they do back home and customers are always asked to remain polite and respectful of the people who they interact with in Thailand.
Meals: Lunches and dinners are not included in this trip and customers are encouraged to seek out local restaurants and establishments when eating meals - our tour leaders have wonderful recommendations for this. Not only does this provide the most authentic meals but you can ensure your money is directly benefiting smaller businesses.
While in Khao Sok National Park and Phuket, customers are encouraged to use local suppliers when booking onto boat and island excursions. This ensures that smaller companies are profiting from the tourism that Thailand brings and we will only promote locally owned companies on our optional excursions.
