PlanetFor customers keen to avoid buying single use plastic bottles, we encourage them to take advantage of our discounted filter Water-To-Go bottle which removes over 99.9% of all microbiological contaminants in water. We work with our local agents to make sure hotels work in as environmentally sensitive way as possible.
We ask our agent to make sure hotels are aware of best practise worldwide and offer advice adapting this best practise can be adapted to local conditions and facilities. Our local agent is encouraging the hotels we use to avoid the use of single use plastic bottles for toiletries and cutting down on waste in all areas of hotel operation.
We try to make sure for all meals customers are served local food prepared in the local style to cut down on food miles and to foster pride in local cooking styles and recipes. For customers understanding the food is an essential part of understanding the culture.
PeopleWe put great emphasis on walking to local villages and meet local people. We take lessons in local skills particularly seeing how local food is prepared. We partake of meals in the local villages and pay direct for these meals thus we target as much as possible of the tour cost to be paid to local people, so they gain from maximum benefit from our visit.
We ensure our local guides facilitate as much cultural exchange between our clients and local people as possible. We feel strongly education is vitally important to make the cultural exchanges that tourism brings about positive experiences for all parties. The easiest form of cultural exchange is trade and we would always encourage customers to trade with clients for maximum benefit for both parties.
We cap passengers at a maximum of 18 customers so as not to impact on the environment and every customer has the best opportunity to engage with the locals. This maximises cultural exchange to the great benefit of all parties.
