Our partners behind this holiday promote inclusivity on all their trips and across their business and we are all committed to ensuring travellers face no discrimination on any part of the trip they control.
We can cater for vegetarian and vegan diets.
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetThis trip is a Nature Immersion trip. We live in a critical moment in our Earth's History and are facing the 6th Mass Extinction and Climate Crisis. This trip is very much designed to Re-Connect us to our true nature and to the ecology we are so deeply a part of.
All of the facilitators are women of the woods and mountains and have lived outdoors under the stars for long periods of time. Nature is our biggest teacher and this trip supports our connection with nature in a way that few other trips do. One of the hosts in an International Mountain Leader and expert in the Flora and Fauna of the Samoens Valley. Another is a Medicine Woman whose Indigenous training has brought her into reverence of Mother Earth, Father Sky and all of the Elements. And the third host is a yogi and ex- Outward Bound Instructor who has been leading retreats in the valley since 2007.
We have designed this trip to be extremely low impact and we ask all of our guests to come by train as far as Geneva where we will pick them up in a mini-bus.
Our food is vegan (subject to dietary requirements) and we source as much food as possible locally and organically.
We don't believe in off-setting carbon but we do believe in planting trees and 5% of our profits goes to Tree Sisters who plant trees in hot spots around the globe.
PeopleThis course was inspired by a local Samoens based mountain guide and single Mum of 3. It has has been her dream to run a retreat like this for a long time so we dreamed it into reality together!
We have been friends since I moved to the valley in 2006. There is a tight knit community in Samoens and we have a close relationships with the local people and businesses.
We bring our guests to the local food and crafts market and buy as much as possible from local farms and green grocers for our meals. On our chefs night off, we book tables for our guests at the local restaurant which best supports the community and environment.
We offer our guests the opportunity to try out local guided activities such as white water rafting and parapenting which support the local economy and jobs.
We have been involved in the Respect the Mountains campaign for many years.
We have a really positive reputation as a pioneering eco retreat company in the valley and we are warmly welcome where-ever we go!
