Responsible tourism

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

Protecting and preserving the beautiful destinations and natural beauty we visit is one of our highest priorities.

Before, during and after Oz Intro and Oz Adventure, we provide information and travel talks about #smallchange and responsible travel. This way we can educate people in travelling responsibly.

To help reduce single use plastics and promote reusable alternatives, we encourage everyone to bring or buy a reusable water bottle. As tap water is drinkable in Australia there is no need to buy plastic bottles of water. In our office in Sydney, we also have a filtered water tank where you can top up your water bottles for free.

Before travelling, we advice everyone to bring a reusable water bottle, however we have branded bottles to purchase for those who don't have their own. We also have branded tote bags available to help reduce the need for plastic bags when shopping.

We strive to operate as a paperless company as far as possible, and recycle in our Sydney office. The accommodation we use in both Sydney and Port Stephens has a communal kitchen where you're able to fill your reusable water bottle, and there are recycling facilities available.

As well as promoting and practicing sustainable travel, we conduct regular eco-audits on all our trips and suppliers to ensure we’re consistently minimising our impact on the natural environment. We also plant 10 trees for every booking made.

The Impacts of this Trip

During Oz Intro and Oz Adventure, we use a number of local suppliers for our activities, such as the Sydney Harbour Cruise and Jet boating.

During our trip north to Port Stephens we visit a 100% Australian owned local brewery where you can taste locally brewed beer and wine. There is the opportunity to purchase bottles of wine or beer directly from the brewery in doing which supports the brewery.

Whilst on our overnight stop in Port Stephens, we stay at locally owned accommodation. We've built a great relationship with the owners And use a local surf school for our surf lesson.

Port Stephens is a part of the country of the Worimi Aboriginal Nation. The Australian Aboriginal culture, the oldest living culture on earth, is as diverse as the lands they inhabit, encompassing many nations, languages, traditions and customs. Before sand boarding, we learn a brief history behind the sand dunes.
