Responsible tourism

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

Environment
Suffolk retreat is our offer for those who would like to spend few days away in the lovely countryside, camping in stylish yurts and enjoying good food and even better wine. Suffolk retreat is also for those who do care about environment seriously.

This itinerary is a center-based trip. It means that you do not need to use any transport to move around. When you arrive, you only unpack once and that’s it. All inclusions are reachable by foot and you do not need to order a taxi or jump into a private vehicle. Needles to say this is the best way to cut carbon emission.

Our carefully chosen accommodation has been awarded several times for their work towards green and sustainable provider. Therefore, while you will feast on an included pizza baked on the site, you can expect it to be flavored with herbs grown in the nearby garden. Your lunch will also be made with locally grown salad and your breakfasts good will also come either from the farm, or friend’s farm nearby. This way the food miles, which are hugely responsible for overall carbon emission in the world, are cut to a bare minimum. In addition, the energy you will use will mainly come from solar panels, all the lights in the common area are LED lights (the most efficient ones) and the water used in the farming activities is mainly a collected rain fall. All these details may seem of little matter in a grand scale, but we believe that one can never go too far with sustainable approach.
Community

The Impacts of this Trip

Suffolk retreat was designed by our staff member. It’s been delivered for our clients to discover the place through eyes of a person who’s spend most of her life there. That is how we came up with a glamping farm as our base for the retreat – because we knew locals who run it. We also know, through friends of friends, owners of a nearby vineyards, and we will take you there for them to show you around, and of course to let you taste a range of their local produce. Afterwards, we’ll suggest cosy, local place for good lunch. Again, run by locals. This is how we support Suffolk community. All above mentioned inclusions will directly give back to local people Be it pizza or wine, while visiting direct producers, we help them to run and develop their business. It is in our genes to support local communities wherever we travel too, and it is no different even if we travel close to home.
