Italy gourmet food holiday with truffle hunting
Description of Italy gourmet food holiday with truffle hunting
This trip can be tailor made throughout the year to suit your requirements
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetThe Eastern region of Le Marche with its long coastline, hills and mountains has often been called Italy's hidden secret. Here, traditional agriculture is key to a way of life that hasn't changed in centuries and it is essential that the environment is respected to sustain these very important traditions. We have a strong responsible travel policy across all our tours and here are some of the things we are doing to help make our impact on Le Marche a positive one.
Most of our meals are taken at local restaurants, cafes and hotel breakfasts. This reduces our packaging significantly and helps support small and medium-size businesses
You will receive a free reusable water bottle on the first day of your tour and there will be lots of opportunities to refill en-route.
Our philosophy of slow travel and exposing visitors to artisan Italy means we use small, local and micro businesses where ever possible to supply services like accommodation, transport and sightseeing such as visits to artisan suppliers and our truffle hunting guides. In fact, it adds to the experience on our holidays and is an important part of small business income and we feel also helps keep traditions alive and thriving.
Local Crafts & Culture
Making quality products by hand is very important in Italian culture. From pasta to shoes to supercars we take immense pride in Italian Design and Craftmanship. As Italians, we have met some incredible artisans across the country over the years and are proud to call them our friends. On this trip you visit a local cheese and olive oil producer.
Friends and Neighbours
Our truffle hunting experience is with local farmers who many can trace their family history back to past generations doing the same job. Like the world over traditional livelihoods do not always offer a high income and the economic benefits of diversifying into taking guests along to joint the truffle hunt has made a positive impact on the local economy.
A Fair Deal
All of our suppliers, partners and friends that provide goods and services to your travel experience have sound commercial agreements in place. We work together closely to ensure that there is no compromise to quality by squeezing margins as some larger corporations can operate.
