Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

As part of our Responsible Travel policy, we advise customers to take reusable water bottles with them on tour. Our local leaders do not actively distribute single-use plastic water bottles. Tap water on this trip is absolutely safe to drink and we encourage customers to refill their bottles from either the hotel or other drinking fountains or springs that we will encounter.
As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.
The Impacts of this Trip
This centre-based trip stays in a small hotel in the town of Alnwick. This helps ensure that our trips benefits the economy directly where we stay. In addition to this we have chosen to offer the trip on a bed and breakfast basis so that, with the assistance of our local tour leader's knowledge, you can dine out in evenings and help support some of the many restaurants close by the hotel where typical local fare is served.
Our local partner is based in the region and employs local drivers and tour leaders. Through our partnership you can be sure that financial benefit from this trip will be going directly into the local economy of the places in which you will travel. The Tour Leader will be able to describe local customs and explain the history of the area helping to build up a better understanding of the area and places we visit.
As a company we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of the UK travel industry body AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators.
