As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetAccommodation on this tour is a camp made up of rustic bungalows which preserve the natural habitat. The camp itself was constructed amongst the ruins of a Roman village, hence, upon construction, great care was taken to preserve the historic landscape of the area. The entire complex is designed to reflect the harmony between nature and the traditional building style using local materials which produce the most natural living environments. A restaurant within the complex is designed as an open outdoor area with a central fireplace where guests can enjoy home-made specialties made of locally grown and locally caught ingredients. Because we treat the environment we work in with great respect and a sense of responsibility, we have a great cooperation with Sutjeska National park which includes some of the most beautiful places of the Balkan region. This great cooperation enables us to organize a number of exclusive tours in this protected area.
PeopleWe nurture a close symbiotic relationship with the local community including the local National Park. As a result we can expect excelent services from our local partners, and in return we strenghten the local communities tourism sector by providing jobs and supporting those working for the National Park itself. Apart from local operational services, we value our relationship with local food suppliers. Providing most of the meals on this tour means having a great network of local food suppliers who we purchace locally grown ingredients from at fair prices. Considering the proximity of the National Park and other protected areas, we work only with suppliers who produce their food locally and legally without exploiting protected resources. We extend the same ethics to other businesses such like crafts and souvenir makers, support those who we know obtain their materials legally. Encouraging our clients to purchase only from legal and certified businesses not only encourages legitimate practices which limit illegal environmental exploitations, but it also provides jobs for legal producers of food and raw materials.
