Where possible we choose to travel by land rather than air. By minimizing the use of flights on our trips, we are making journeys more stimulating and more sustainable for travellers. This trip includes transfers in hybrid vehicles on arrival in Iran. This trip does not include any flights, providing all transport by road. We ensure our vehicles are well maintained and fuel-efficient. We use vehicles that are an appropriate size to suit the group size. For example, we wouldn’t use a 16-seater van if we only had five people travelling with us. We plan our routes of travel so that we spend as little time as possible travelling. While tap water may not be safe to drink in Iran, we still encourage travellers to bring their own reusable water bottles. Our leaders will suggest and facilitate the purchase of larger containers of water for the group so that travellers can refill their reusable water bottles from this source. This reduces the number of single-use plastic water bottles disposed of by our travellers.

People

We go direct to the source for many of the inclusions on our trips. Locally-owned accommodation, transport providers, activity suppliers. This ensures that income from tourism is directly benefitting local communities everywhere we go. While in Kashan and Yazd, travellers will enjoy home-cooked meals with two local families. This provides opportunities for sharing recipes and stories, while directly supporting two local families. All aspects of this trip (on the ground) are operated by Iranians. This includes our leaders, vehicle drivers, local site guides, and accommodation providers. We employ both female and male leaders in Iran, supporting women who enjoy working in the tourism industry to access employment and development opportunities to further their careers and earning potential.
