Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
The bike is such a simple thing, right? Well, we truly believe it is a great and democratic ingredient to make our world better!Cycling holidays are environmentally friendly as the bikes do not create pollution: you are your own energy. You will not even create noise pollution: together with walking, it is a real silent way to travel. We say, you enter the landscape on tiptoe.
We love to pedal through rural areas and regions where nature is queen. In this tour, beyond vineyards and large cultivations, we’ll ride through theNatural park of river Mincio, a varied landscape made by forests, karst springs, peat bogs, wetlands, scrublands and arid meadows. We’ll discover the Nature reserve Moraine complex of Castellaro Lagusello too. The area extends around asmall heart-shaped lake, overlooked by theancient medieval village. Many birds populate this area; there are endemic species of orchids and amphibians too and we take the upmost care to preserve this natural environment.
In this tour you'll be staying in one accommodation, so you don't need luggage transport: one less car around!
The Hotel you’ll stay at is member of the Italy Bike Hotels, which aim to provide the best services for the bike travelers.
Please note that Peschiera del Garda has a train station, you can use public transport to reach the departure of this Holiday.
We also do not support disposable plastic bottles. In the rental kit we include a reusable bike water bottle.
People
As a local tour operator from Italy’s North East, we aim to promote a slow way of traveling so our guests can discover all the hidden places in-between the main attractions of our territory. We plan the itineraries so to avoid tourist traps. The bike is an excellent way to do it: we stick on bike paths and secondary roads, we reach small villages, countryside companies and farmhouses, which suffer (and love!) the fact of being located out of the mass tourist routes.
We sustain local family businesses (such as wineries, hotels, farms…). Either we include the services in the packages, or we suggest nice visits listing quality partners in the road book. In this tour we'll stay at a family run Hotel, sensitive to active/ bike tourism.
No tastings nor visits are included, but on the road book you'll read good suggestions about local wineries (possibly organic), osterias (small informal restaurants), less-known monuments and interesting cultural locations, which are often managed by non-profit association. By working with these businesses we are able to provide income and jobs for the community.
