As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetWalking is arguably the greenest from of travel with no carbon footprint. On this walking holiday we hike in the protected environment of the Cornwall's South West Coast Path. Our hikes allow us to explore with minimal impact on the natural world.
We have designed this trip to operate using only local bus and train transport with no need for any private vehicle journeys, thus keeping the environmental impact to a minimum. The centre-base in Penzance can be reached by public transport with good train connections.
As part of our Responsible Travel policy, we advise customers to take reusable water bottles with them on tour. Our local leaders actively do not distribute single-use plastic water bottles. Tap water is safe to drink and they encourage customers to refill their bottles from the hotel or along the way.
For every walking holidaymaker on this exploration of Cornwall's wild coast we make a financial contribution to Rewilding Britain, helping to support landowners who want to invest in rewilding, helping people understand their land and restore the natural processes that have been suppressed over time.
PeopleWe stay in two locally-owned and run guesthouses in the town of Penzance. On our walks we pass through a number of local villages and towns where clients are given free time and have the opportunity to visit shops and cafes that helps to support local businesses. In addition to this we have chosen to offer the trip on a bed and breakfast basis so that, with the assistance of our local tour leader's knowledge, you can dine out in evenings and help support some of the many restaurants close by the hotel where typical local fare is served.
Our Tour Leaders are qualified, professional walking Leaders that are well trained in the importance of the protection of the environment in which they’re guiding you. We keep our group size to a relatively small number of 16 walkers to reduce impact on the community and environment and cause less disturbance to wildlife which is particularly important in this environmentally sensitive and protected area.
