Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
On each of our tours, we ensure we work with partners who share our values to only have a positive environment in the environments we visit. As part of this adventure, we invite our guests to join a beach clean with our local guides. Guests can pay their newfound respect of coastal destinations forward as they get up close and personal with the marine life living in the tough intertidal zone and leave with the knowledge and experience to explore the beaches and coves independently and responsibly. We provide all guests on our tours with reusable water bottles to use throughout their adventure in the hope that we can eliminate the use of single-use plastic bottles. Guests can refill their bottles at the start of each day and we hope that they will continue to use their reusable bottles long after their trip draws to an end, in place of buying plastic bottles in the future. We aim to show guests the harmful effects single use plastic can have on native wildlife during the beach clean.
People
One of the best ways in which we can support the local community is to solely work with local, independent partners, all of whom share our passion for supporting the community they are based. In rural areas of Wales, it can often be a challenge for young people to find work in their local community, and so they feel they must leave to find employment elsewhere. By supporting local businesses and paying them fairly, they can continue to support the younger generations as they reach working age.On this particular trip, we work with a charity that works with young people helping to develop their life skills to improve their employment prospects. Over the past 10 years, the sailing charity has worked with young people who have been unemployed, in care, are young carers, homeless or at risk of being homeless, have dropped out of education, have severe financial limitations as well as those who are looking for a challenge and focus in their lives.
