Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
The Entada community experience on this tour is involved in environmental conservation especially of indigenous fruit trees and tree planting. They preserve the backcloth and use it for arts and crafts plus sharing the cultural attachment.Bigodi community - you have an opportunity to engage in tree planting. Your make a small payment for this experience and in turn contribute to the buffer zone for chimpanzee and other wildlife plus the general environment.
We provide re-usable water bottles instead of buying many single use water bottles. We buy one 20L bottle that is then used throughout the safari. When the water is finished this is disposed of and people use it to store water for home use and others use it for urban back yard gardens to plant vegetables.
When on safari, all the waste is collected and disposed off properly at the lodges after every safari day to avoid littering the communities we visit.
People
The Entanda community experience in Kijjude village gives you an authentic Buganda experience. This tourism experience has helped contribute to preserving the Kiganda culture as they share it with visitors. They in turn add income from this experience in addition to agriculture. The Bigodi village walk gives opportunities to communities to earn directly from tourism. This community neighbors the national park and has for long co-existed with it. The income they earn encourages them to continue conservation because they benefit directly from tourism.
We give clients an opportunity to eat at a local restaurant and taste the traditional food. This way they connect with the people and place and locals benefit from hosting them.
We provide students with internship opportunities to learn about tourism in Uganda. They are equipped and have better chances of finding employment because of the practical knowledge obtained.
Clients are given opportunities of visiting craft shops to purchase some souvenirs which they can carry home.
