Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Wherever possible, environmentally friendly products are used on our vessels and we purchase these through a local business run by Lucy and Friends - Green Planet. Sailing is generally an environmentally friendly activity, although anchoring can cause damage to sea grass and the chemicals and biocides in antifouling are a danger to sea creatures. We avoid anchoring in protected areas and use an antifouling paint that minimises the damage to wildlife. Waste disposal is a real issue with sailing voyages but we endeavour not to dispose of any domestic waste into the sea. We continue to search for more environmentally sustainable products and particularly those made in the UK. Our sails are manufactures by Jeckells in Wroxham rather than the much cheaper option of the Far East. Similarly, all our charts are produced by Imray and unusually much of the electronics are made in the UK by a lovely company call Emtrak. It is the Emtrak AIS system that allows our vessels to be tracked by your families and friends throughout the voyage.People
We support a number of cancer charities and this particular trip raises funds for Cancer Research. Other trips support the Hospice movement, Cancer Research and the Christie Hospital Charitable Trust. Most of us will come into contact with cancer at some time in our lives and these charities, as many of us know, are there to help and support both the patient and their family. It is our personal experience of the superb care and support provided by Cancer Charities that has lead us to run this trip. Our yachts will visit many marinas and most, including Royal Quays, Rhu, Bangor and Whitehills, will donate the mooring fees to them. There is no pre requisite to fundraise but if you wish to support our crews on their voyage, and help Cancer Research and the Hospice movement continue their vital work with those affected by cancer, then you can follow the link sent when you book that visits our just giving page.
