Planet
In keeping with the healthy clean living aspects of staying at Mas du Tracol all our meals are either vegetarian, or vegan. From the outset we have always aimed to use predominantsy organic (bio) produce which are locally sourced from trusted local suppliers. We understand that waste recycling is of utmost importance and is now the norm in France all our waste is sorted and recycled. Our power is sourced from renewable suppliers, and our water is from treated local springs. Because of our love for nature we have taken the steps to turn our own private woodland that surrounds the property into a haven for wildlife and nature. within the area you can see and hear Scops Owls, Hawk Eagles, many Mediterranean species such as thyme, savory, juniper bush, prickly gorse, olive tree, lavender, alpine pine, evergreen species such as holm oak and kermese oak and deciduous species such as pedunculate oak and downy oak.
People
From the moment we first saw Le Mas Du Tracol, a beautiful traditional stone Ardècheois building, we knew that to be successful and to do it correctly we had to fully involve our local community in the renovation and repair of this important building. We set about employing as many local artisan builders as we could who were fully conversant in the the local traditional building styles and aesthetics. So were able to make all repairs and upgrades sympathetically. the benefits brought by our local workforce was that they also brought along a wealth of important contacts within the local community which has enabled us to be able to source all our building materials locally. This enabled Le Mas du Tracol to be renovated sympathetically using traditional methods.
Now Le Mas du Tracol is complete, we ensure that we source everything locally, bread from the local bakers, food from the local producers, we provide employment for local people, and support our local community, who we now class as our friends.
