Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

When exploring Taironaka and Minca, it's essential to be mindful of our impact on the environment and local communities.

In Taironaka, a hidden gem nestled in the Sierra Nevada jungle, we ask our travelers to respect the delicate ecosystem and follow the guidance of their guide to minimize their impact on the flora and fauna. We also encourage visitors to support the conservation efforts of the local indigenous communities, who work hard to preserve their cultural and natural heritage.

In Minca, surrounded by lush forests and stunning waterfalls, we invite travelers to take care not to disturb the environment or the wildlife. By staying on designated trails and being conscious of our waste, we can help preserve this stunning natural area for future generations.
We always encourage travelers to visit locally owned fincas in the countryside, where the daily practices help protect the environment and ensure that local flora and fauna are well-preserved. In our Cacao and coffee tour, you’ll be surrounded by cacao, coffee, exotic fruits, wonderful nature, birds, and wild bamboo. Your guide will be explaining to you the complete process of the production of both, as you’re walking through this lush paradise

When visiting the Cartagena markets, we encourage our travelers to choose locally grown fruits and vegetables and to reduce their use of single-use plastics. Supporting local businesses and vendors not only promotes sustainable tourism, but it also helps preserve the cultural heritage of the city.

On this trip, we will be visiting locations of high importance in natural aspects such as the Rosario Islands which are surrounded by protected reefs, and Tayrona Park in The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta; the highest coastal mountain in the world. This Park offers extraordinary beaches, rivers, and dry forests. We care about the conservation of water and marine life so we create awareness in our guests so that our beaches and resorts remain clean and we can continue to offer unforgettable experiences.

During the sunset catamaran cruise in Cartagena's Bay, we remind our travelers to be mindful of marine life and avoid throwing trash or litter into the water. Admire stunning natural beauty without disturbing the ecosystem.

People

As a travel agency, we are committed to promoting responsible travel that allows our clients to have meaningful and authentic cultural experiences while also supporting local communities and preserving natural environments.

One of our top destinations for cultural immersion is Medellin, a city that has undergone a transformation in recent years and now offers a vibrant mix of traditional and contemporary culture. We offer a range of tours in Medellin that allow travelers to explore the local market and taste the diverse and colorful fruits of the region, as well as visit the vibrant neighborhood of Comuna 13, which was once known for violence but has since become a hub of street art and community activism.

We also prioritize working with local guides and operators who have a deep understanding of the cultural context of the places we visit, and who are committed to supporting local communities through sustainable tourism practices.

When visiting the local markets in Medellin and Cartagena, we encourage travelers to respect the vendors and their products and to purchase souvenirs and food from local sellers to support the local economy. Our fruit-tasting tour in the markets also educates travelers about the diversity of Colombian fruits and the importance of sustainable farming practices.

In the mangroves of La Boquilla, we partner with a local fisherman from the village who manages the original wooden canoe tour. This supports the local community and provides an authentic experience for travelers.
