Walking in Andalucia

Description of Walking in Andalucia
This walking in Andalucia holiday takes you to this wonderful but relatively unknown region of Spain. Although only 45 minutes from Malaga airport, Andalucia is a walkers’ paradise with temperatures averaging around 25°C in September and 20°C in the winter months.
Join a group of like-minded people and share our hill walking holidays in beautiful Spain’s southernmost region. Solo travellers are particularly welcome and there is NO single supplement.
Our holidays are all about finding the hidden Spain, having fantastic guided walks and meeting like-minded people. For many of our guests, the best aspect of the holiday is the excellent company of the group members and in particular, the great company of Paul and Victoria, the tour leaders, who have lived in the area for many years and who always go out of their way to include everyone in the walking and social activities. A holiday you will always remember.
“I have been away with a number of walking companies as you know and I can say that yours is the best organised I have been on - and you made all of us very welcome. You are all really good guides, sensitive to the needs of their clients - and very pleasant and knowledgeable. The fact that you had two guides for each group is also very impressive and unique in my experience.”
October 2017.
“Thank you for great walks, super care and excellent attention to detail. Our accommodation was lovely. We would recommend this holiday to everyone!”
September 2017.
The walks are well organised, with some ascents and descents, and the care and safety of our guests is paramount. All historical and local information is provided. Guests can choose to stay in a traditional Moorish style hotel or upgrade to a boutique hotel. Both are in the heart of the village and situated just near the main Plaza
The wining and dining are superb. We eat in family-run village restaurants where the food is home cooked and locally sourced. You will find the owners both welcoming and friendly. We pride ourselves on catering for all diets.
After a day’s walking and before dinner, sitting in the sunshine in the main plaza surrounded by orange trees and fountains is an absolute delight.
There is a hotel upgrade available, subject to availability. Please enquire for further details.
We are delighted that many of our guests return year after year for the hill walking, sunshine and great company. This is a holiday you will remember with fondness and great memories!
Walking in winter is great here, and we are offering a very special Walking Over Christmas holiday, with no turkey or tinsel, just fantastic hill walking in warm winter sunshine!

Wherever possible we use fruit and vegetables sourced locally. Where we buy food we use local markets, which only stock locally grown produce in season, thus supporting the local agricultural community. Evening meals are taken locally in typical Spanish restaurants serving regional dishes. We have the greatest respect for the local people and their customs and are anxious to share our knowledge of Andalucia with our guests. We take our clients to local fairs, processions and celebrations when they coincide with a holiday, and we explain the background. We also provide people with a history of Torrox and the surrounding villages during our walks. We encourage our guests to speak to the local people in the village, if only to say hello.
We work in partnership with local businesses and we generate new business and work in the local economy. Guests have an opportunity to visit the local olive oil co-operative and purchase locally produced olive oil, local wine and other goods. We encourage clients to buy home-made products such as dried figs, raisins, honey, almonds and wine.
Our cleaners and extra drivers are local people. Our guests stay in local village hotels, which have been restored by local workmen and we have been careful to ensure that these hotels have retained their unique Moorish character whilst providing all necessary comforts. This helps the Pueblo retain its immense charm and encourages sustainable tourism, which is necessary for the growth of a healthy local economy.
During our walks our guests are encouraged to behave in an environmentally responsible manner. We stay on well marked paths and we always take our litter home with us. We do not encourage the picking of wild flowers and plants. We do not leave any type of fruit peel along the way.

Our community is very important to us and we respect and like them enormously. Our food is cooked by local chefs, the hotels cleaned and maintained by tradesmen and ladies from the village. Our guides have lived in the area for many years and are known and respected by the villagers. We use the local petrol station for refuelling, limit the use of unnecessary transport thus keeping the traffic from building in the winding streets.Popular similar holidays
