Cycling also makes it possible to interact with the locals and understand their culture and lifestyle.Accommodation is arranged in camps, hotels, eco-lodges and homestays owned and run by local entrepreneurs thereby directly contributing to the local economy. The Hornbill camp has been set up as a model of sustainable tourism. The employees are all locally hired, provisions are sourced from the surrounding village and the camp follows strict environmental practices like disposal of waste, reducing electric consumption etc. There is a strong policy of employing women.
Our guides and drivers are all from the local community and tourism is their sole means of livelihood.
