Description of Luxury fitness holidays in Spain

Head to the Northern Costa Blanca for a boot camp holiday by name, but not by nature. Instead, this retreat helps guests to kick start their new health, fitness and wellbeing regime. The approach taken here is holistic, so guests learn about healthy eating, detox and reinvigorate their bodies and tone up their physique, all in one seven day trip. Unlike the traditional military-style boot camps, we offer a supportive and nurturing environment that enable guests to achieve their personal goals.

This is an intensive residential program for weight loss, detox, fitness and well-being, via education and motivation, so that each guest’s personal health, fitness and lifestyle goals are achieved and sustained. We encourage guests to concentrate on themselves and the well-being of their mind, body and soul, with the retreat’s beautiful location and healthy environment ensuring they unwind and de-stress from their busy lives. The World Health Organization has declared the climate in this part of Spain to be one of the healthiest anywhere in the world. A beautiful mountain chain protects the area and gives it a special and mild micro-climate.
The targeted fitness program includes daily yoga, Pilates, beach circuit training, core training, eco hikes along the beautiful coastline and into the mountains, as well as meditation sessions to promote deep relaxation, stress reduction and restful sleep.

Guest numbers are limited to a maximum of 16 people so that personal attention can be guaranteed. We only offer fixed dates, too, as we want our team to remain fresh, focused and attentive to each guest’s needs. All our luxury suites are spacious and private, with doubles beds and a secluded terrace or balcony. Each has a full kitchen with dining area, comfortable and well appointed lounge with flat screen TV and satellite, free WiFi and bathroom. We never charge supplements for single occupancy and we never ask guests to share accommodation, although if you do want to share with a friend or partner, of course you can.

What can you expect from your time with us?
Weight loss (the average is between 5 and 8lbs), dropping a dress size (6-8 cm average), a healthy detox without hunger or deprivation, an increase in fitness levels, education on healthy eating to control your weight and improve your overall health to live a healthier, happier life. You should experience a feeling of well-being, clarity and invigoration, reduced stress levels, renewed focus and determination, improved muscle tone and posture.

What do we include in our luxury retreat package?
One initial health check and wellness consultation and a targeted fitness program. This includes a daily yoga class to improve flexibility and ease of movement, and Pilates classes, to build a strong core and improve muscle tone and flexibility. There are also beach circuit training classes, which are fun, challenging and a whole body workout and HIIT – high intensity classes – for those guests looking to take their fitness to the next level. Core and extreme Swiss ball classes are lots of fun, but with a real purpose, and are great for building flexibility and a strong core. Enjoy mountain, coast and valley hikes, too, of various lengths, taking in the stunning surroundings.

Also includes is a meditation workshop, nutritional workshop and open discussion group, and complimentary use of our wellness spa, including a well equipped gym, heated indoor wave pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. There is also a large outdoor lagoon pool and sunbathing terraces to enjoy, and a guest chill-out lounge, with books, DVDs, magazines and comfy sofas. There is a welcome night dinner and this trip is on a full board basis, with a healthy cleansing weight loss and detox menu in the retreat restaurant. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner plus healthy snacks, unlimited mineral water and organic herbal teas and infusions. Breakfast on your day of departure is also included, as are return transfers to and from Alicante airport.

Hello. If you'd like to chat about this holiday or need help finding one we're very happy to help. Rosy & team.

Responsible tourism: Luxury fitness holidays in Spain

Environment

Our accommodation is a purpose built hotel complex, it was constructed using the principles of Feng Shui, it has its own modern sewage treatment plant which supplies all the water to the gardens. The units are very well insulated so that energy consumption can be kept to a minimum, heat in winter and cool in summer. The complex employs an "intelligent" building system, iHAS, this turns lights off automatically and regulates interior and exterior lights according to the level of darkness again reducing power consumption.

The food served to our clients is, in-season, locally sourced and produced, unrefined, unprocessed and wherever possible organic, this means we can minimise packaging and support local growers and producers whilst ensuring our clients enjoy the very freshest produce possible.

In this region of Spain everyone recycles their waste, both individual households and business, glass, metal, plastic, paper and organic and garden waste.

All guests are informed and encouraged to be environmentally aware both inside and outside the complex, inside by conserving power and water and outside by understanding why it is so important to stay on the designated tracks when hiking or mountain biking, we limit our groups to a maximum of 12 people, not only does this ensure our clients receive individual attention but also less impact is made to the environment.

Community

The accommodation / Hotel complex we use employs local staff. All of our drivers, housekeepers, cook’s and therapists are local, , and we use local guides for both hiking and mountain biking, this not only offers employment to local people but also means that our clients benefit from genuine local knowledge that cannot be found in a guide book.

The owners of the Hotel use local suppliers and use goods and services from the local areas, this is particularly important during the autumn and winter months on the coastal areas as when the summer tourists have left the unemployment rates soar.

All of the unused natural products supplied in our guest welcome bags is gifted to a local children's home & charity.

The Thai yoga massage literally made me feel I was flying thanks Patricia. teachers really good and really missed 8 o'clock yoga with Julie today. Good starting off point for travelling in Spain.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Don't worry about fitness levels even though it is called a yoga boot camp it's very tongue in cheek it is exactly how far you want to go. Make sure you walk down to the sea every day lovely coastal path.

Really rejuvanating the food was fantastic and never felt humgry a gentle but instructive introduction to healthy eating. Had slight headache after day 3 with no coffee but lots of varieties of herbal teas and fresh lemon and ginger. Accommodation very comfortable and no single supplement for 2 bed roomed apartments.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

So many amazing moments, Circuits and the High Intensity work-outs on the beach have to be a highlight, along with the serene Yoga sessions first thing in the morning. My massage was the best I have ever had. accommodation was first class and the food to die for.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Pack loads of fitness gear- the appartments do have washing machines so take washing tablets.
Go with an open mind and try all the activities.
Treat yourself to a massage or some of the lovely treatments on offer

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Definately, local people were employed at the centre. Very eco-friendly accommodation but not to the detriment of producing a quality appartment.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Being able to relax!

I had no idea what to expect and met up with a group of 30 - 55 year olds in need of time to relax and unwind. 14 burned out ladies! Gentle yoga, cardio circuits, walks, good food etc contributed to re-energise us. Good massages.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

To benefit fully you need to be moderately fit.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Not really unless you count local expats as locals ...

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Good - wish I hadn't been in need to cut myself off to be able to relax but needs must. I left feeling and looking far better than 6 days earlier. No competition, free to participate or not, no pressure to push yourself too much.
