Memorable parts? My surprise! The cities we visited were so vibrant and beautiful (except Dubrovnik that was ruined by the thousands of tourists) and the beauty of the scenery in Slovenia, Bosnia and parts of Croatia. Tips? Be prepared for a packed programme and long coach rides. 500 miles are covered in 11 days! Local benefits? Local guides were used at each location visited. Hotels were touristy by neccessity, there was certainly an awareness of the importance of conservation,... (more)Catherine Crawford

Memorable parts? The trip guides' frank explanations of the history of their regions as we travelled through these troubled places. Tips? Prepare by reading on the history of the region. Local benefits? Yes, the trip coordinator / planner had taken trouble to ensure benefits to locals. Overall rating? Very highly the trip leader / coordinator was outstanding in her management of the group, it's timing and progress as well as of the many extravcalls on her time... (more)Briar Gordon
