Over a dozen beautiful islands make up Guadeloupe, many of them almost untouched, with its biggest two, Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre, looking like a butterfly fluttering between Montserrat and Dominica in the southern Caribbean Sea. This is a French overseas region, but undeniably Creole in culture and cuisine, and it’s bursting with beauty, too, from the white sandy bays synonymous with this part of the world, to nature reserves, waterfalls, a volcano, tropical forests and colourful fishing villages.
