The most exciting part of the holiday was seeing the tigers in Kanha National Park. We were lucky enough to see a tiger kill only 20m from our jeep which is very rare to see so the most memorable part. (more)Margaret and Georges Norah
The most memorable was seeing three tigers on two separate sightings. Unforgettable! An amazing experience - wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! (more)Kevin Mulcahy
The most memorable moment was the first wild tiger we saw, just peeping through the bamboo. (more)Amanda Diggins
Tadoba National park tiger safari, India
    From

The most memorable moment was staying at the lodge, in the buffer zone, listening to the night around a bonfire with wonderful snacks and a gin and tonic, then visiting the local villages on a walk the following day. The jungle safaris were amazing particularly the elephant back experience and of course seeing the tigers. (more)Julia Killick
The most memorable was having the most amazing Tiger sightings. Superb, we had a great time and enjoyed both Tadoba and Kanha national parks, the lodges we stayed at and saw some amazing wildlife and birds too. (more)Jo Gaunt
I feel that I was looked after very well, Neelesh who organised my itinerary was most attentive. Where I stayed was beautiful and relaxing. Staff were excellent and very attentive (more)Kerrie Griffin

The holiday was good...Visit to Cochin in Kerala. The Taj Malabar is a unique one!!! And also Usaipur, the city is great and the Leela palace hotel is a must seen. (more)Itay Mehl
Most memorable was the Taj Mahal. It's everything it's claimed to be. A remarkable building that shows little sign of age. We visited in the afternoon then went back at dawn. It's well worth two visits (more)Sally Wylie

All the wildlife and the wonderful lodges I stayed at: 13 Asiatic lions, 7 leopards, a striped hyena, 2 jungle cats, blackbuck, wild asses, and many species of birds... (more)Bonnie Shirley
It would be impossible to identify a single highlight- there were so many! Seeing so many leopards, the Asiatic lions, the nesting hornbills, saving a Blackbuck fawn from a pariah dog, the simply superb staff, some truly amazing dishes we tried and people we encountered- simply too much and many to mention. (more)Clive Freemantle
Best bits: Being in amongst the crazy traffic and not having to drive...seeing wild leopard in Gir...seeing a bridal party in all their finery...seeing the contrast between wealthy and subsistence living. (more)Susan Holdsworth

    From

There were too many to list! Seeing the great architectural icons of India with good guides, our skilful and kind driver for whom nothing was too much trouble, and the thrill of seeing not one, but two tigers on the same day in Kanha National Park. (more)Carola Leonard
It was a very memorable experience. There are so many things to take in and I have heard many say that it is an assault on the senses, the sights, sounds and smells can be overwhelming in both good and bad ways. We are really pleased we have been able to experience India. (more)Julia Bolton
Best bit: seeing a leopard and 2 tigers! (more)Andrew Conisbee

Getting in touch with local people. We were very well taken care of at Keits homestay and the food there was really good. The staff showed us around in the village and spent time with us and showed us how people lived there. Visiting the museum in Aleppey. (more)Ann-Cathrine Sanderberg

Memorable parts? Finding out about the 'real' India. Tips? I went to Calcutta which is raw and real. There is no pretentiousness, no pretence, just India how you might have imagined. Local benefits? I volunteered for a charity that empowered women - very much needed in many parts if India. Overall rating? Superb - it was everything I wanted. (more)alison hay
    India tiger safaris
    From
    £2,750
    including domestic flights only
Memorable parts? The game drives are clearly the highlight. Don't expect to see huge herds of wildlife roaming open savannah like you do in Africa. Much of the terrain is hilly and heavily forested (particularly at Bandhavgarh) so sightings can be difficult and infrequent. However be patient, there is plenty of wildlife to see and the sightings you do get will generally be up close. You also get a lot of time in the parks, 6:30 to ~11.00 (with a pick nick breakfast) and 15:00 to ~18:30. All... (more)Peter Brown

So many aspects of the trip were memorable, even life changing -- it is hard to choose just one... Working closely with the women and children in the projects was an incredible opportunity to connect with and learn about realities outside our own world. Truly life-changing. (more)Shirley Redpath
This was a volunteering holiday so that whole premise was fantastic. I'd never done that before and it felt fabulous to be really doing something even though on holidays. (more)Kristin Walters
Family holiday with volunteering in India
    From
    US $549.5

Memorable parts? Seeing the enthusiasm of the children and how welcome we felt at the schools. Feeling connected to the local community and other volunteers whilst staying in the comfortable volunteers house instead of a hotel. Also the delicious authentic Indian food cooked by a lovely local lady at the house. Tips? Make time for a bit of relaxation before the project and after as the travelling is very tiring and we would have liked to have had more time to spend in India. Make... (more)Rayner McKenzie

Being in Kerala was the first totally wonderful thing! I loved the buzz of life in and around Fort Kochi while we were working at the women's project, and equally enjoyed a beautiful short trip to the more peaceful hills and plantations around Munnar. (more)Isobel Barnden
The memorable moment were the people, the children, the colours, the food, the sunsets. I missed Kerala when I got home … the colours, the gentle polite Keralan people, the beautiful friendly children, the interesting Volunteers, the warm weather, the beautiful sunsets, the food, and Gina’s lovely Keralan breakfasts and lunches at the volunteers’ house. (more)Gillian Perrott
India bird watching holiday in the Himalayas

For us the nature based activities and birdwatching were tremendous. We had some really good guides and got to see tigers and a leopard which is very rare. The people, the culture and the environment were very exotic to us. (more)Dianne Reidy
Seeing the Taj Mahal at Sunrise is an unforgettable event in our lives. Many special rare species of birds seen on our Birding Himalyan tour...Superbly organised. (more)Michael Clark
The bird watching was excellent...Bird guides were very good too, and all knew their local birds. However outstanding was Sunil (Kumar?) in Nainital. His excellent English made our outings a great pleasure (more)Jacky Davis

Memorable parts? The traditional male dancers at the accommodation near Madurai were very much the local equivalent of morris dancers - bells, hats, stick dances, waving hankies, the hobby hoss .... Totally unexpected, and they had as much fun dancing as we had watching! The enormous and mostly colourful temples. So many friendly children (and sometimes adults) who wanted their photo taken even if they had their own cameras too. The crocodiles at the breeding centre south of Chennai. Tips? Balance... Kerala tailor made holiday

The most memorable was bamboo rafting and trek in Periyar National Park watching a family of elephants swim across the water in front of us and watching them as we ate our lunch (even the Rangers were excited to see a special event). (more)Julie Evans
Spending New Year's Eve at a party at our hotel was the most memorable - great atmosphere, tremendous friendliness and warmth and fireworks whose proximity erred on the side of exciting rather than H&S. - but we were outside, in the mountains and it was cold! We all loved Kerala and (particularly) its people and were left with a determination to see more of India. (more)Joan Findlay
The highlight was Seeing wild elephants in Periyar Tiger Reserve. (more)Jennie Greenhalgh
