Each day was packed with memorable moments, but if I had to pick one day it would be when we went to a very small town to stay in a fort/castle overnight.
It was fantastic. I can't wait to go back one day. (more)Lindsey Lavaysse

Memorable parts?
Difficult to choose just one, it was all memorable, but I particularly enjoyed the homestay in the backwaters of Kerala. Wonderful host family and a beautiful and relaxing setting. And Hampi has to be one of the most interesting places in India.
Tips?
It is not as basic as it sounds. All but two of the hotels were quite luxurious. Having all the travel arrangements done for you makes it stress free. We had a very good guide and the group had loads of positive energy.... (more)Maggie Hetherington

The golden temple at Amritsar and the border ceremony at Waga on the Pakistan India Border were most memorable. Fantastic! I love India; the people are so friendly and so colourful, the temples are wonderful. The entire spectrum is there to be enjoyed. (more)Jackie Driver
Memorable parts?
Finding out about the 'real' India.
Tips?
I went to Calcutta which is raw and real. There is no pretentiousness, no pretence, just India how you might have imagined.
Local benefits?
I volunteered for a charity that empowered women - very much needed in many parts if India.
Overall rating?
Superb - it was everything I wanted. (more)alison hay
So many aspects of the trip were memorable, even life changing -- it is hard to choose just one... Working closely with the women and children in the projects was an incredible opportunity to connect with and learn about realities outside our own world. Truly life-changing. (more)Shirley Redpath
This was a volunteering holiday so that whole premise was fantastic. I'd never done that before and it felt fabulous to be really doing something even though on holidays.

Memorable parts?
Seeing the enthusiasm of the children and how welcome we felt at the schools. Feeling connected to the local community and other volunteers whilst staying in the comfortable volunteers house instead of a hotel. Also the delicious authentic Indian food cooked by a lovely local lady at the house.
Tips?
Make time for a bit of relaxation before the project and after as the travelling is very tiring and we would have liked to have had more time to spend in India. Make... (more)Rayner McKenzie
Being in Kerala was the first totally wonderful thing! I loved the buzz of life in and around Fort Kochi while we were working at the women's project, and equally enjoyed a beautiful short trip to the more peaceful hills and plantations around Munnar. (more)Isobel Barnden
The memorable moment were the people, the children, the colours, the food, the sunsets. I missed Kerala when I got home … the colours, the gentle polite Keralan people, the beautiful friendly children, the interesting Volunteers, the warm weather, the beautiful sunsets, the food, and Gina’s lovely Keralan breakfasts and lunches at the volunteers’ house.

Its impossible to pick just one as the entire trip was wonderful, which probably sounds like a cliche. There were so many highlights, the sailing down the Ganges was magical, and exploring Varanasi. (more)Zoe Tillier
