Going over the sand dunes and staying in gers or in tents in what seemed to be in the middle of nowhere and then a herd of goats and sheep comes along. (more)Josephine Tanti
Climbing the 'Singing Sand Dunes' (Khongoryn Els) at sunset was amazing! It was a big effort to make it to the top, but we were rewarded with once-in-a lifetime views over the vast sand dunes and Gobi Desert while mother nature turned on a spectacular pink and purple hue. (more)Lynette Smith
The space and serenity of Mongolia. And watching sunrise and sunset caily in front of your eyes. (more)Kat Kassim

Memorable parts? The Mongolian ger camp was wonderful. ...the local guides Tuya and Nimo were terrific and made the Mongolian stop off great. Lake Baikal was also amazing...great fun with the sauna and jumping in the freezing river..standing on the frozen lake...beautiful and memorable. The entire train journey was special and being escorted by a brilliant guide was just the best way to feel safe yet given every opportunity to meet and interact with travellers from everywhere, learn new... Memorable parts? All of my holiday was exciting to first boarding the flight to Ullaanbaatar and arriving via Moscow into the land of Ghenkis Khann - that's what brought me here, so much history Tips? This trip is for the ultimate adventurer - camping in the wild with great people looking after you. Research carefully if it's what you really want - I'm two months off my 70th birthday and i loved it but I'm a tom boy and it's what I always wanted. Zavkhaan will look after you well. Local... Memorable parts? Two things: Seeing the Naadam festival. The friendliness and competence of the local staff - two drivers and two cooks. They will remain in my affections forever. Tips? Take a lavalava. It makes an emergency tent when the hot sun is beating down on your head, it can be a towel, a bathrobe, a shoulder covering for temples, a modesty screen when having a public pee stop. Never travel without your lavalava. Local benefits? I couldn't say. I sought out a fair... (more)Monica Holland

The Lake Baikal Homestay and the Mongolian Ger Camp... both have incredible memories for me that will stay with me for life! (more)Heidi Hosgood
I loved the train journey, chatting to the locals, making food, using the hot water urns at the end of the carriage and having the wheels changed on the Mongolia/China border was a fantastic experience. (more)Sally Foote
The most memorable was staying in a ger at Terelj National Park [Mongolia] and walking in the park... The most exciting was seeing the cosmonaut memorial in Moscow and balancing a Kazakh hunting eagle on my arm outside Terelj. (more)Christine Johnstone
