Volunteering Journeys
How the minimum criteria of the responsible travel standard was met...
Economic responsibility
Our volunteering program involves working with local communities, local charities, local government bodies, local schools, or indigenous tribes. This helps travellers to directly contribute to the local communities they visit. In addition part of the trip cost is also used for funding the project. For instance- if our participant signs up to construct a toilet, the costs of the materials required is included in the trip price. Almost 80% of trip costs go back into field.
Environmental responsibility
Our operations are eco-friendly as we introduce policy of minimising and properly disposing of waste created, by conserving energy and water, and by ensuring that endangered wildlife and environmentally compromised areas are treated with respect.
Social responsibility
We give pre-departure information and onsite training describing the destination country, its history, cultural norms, and general health and visa requirements. We also provide important practical information such as how to pack and dress appropriately, how much money to bring and of course local phrases to get by. On arrival a culture training is delivered.
