How the minimum criteria of the responsible travel standard was met...

Economic responsibility

• Organic food from Croatia is probably the healthiest food you can find in Europe. We do our best to use eco ingredients from local farms such as vegetables, wine, oil, eggs, cheese, spices, etc.
• Our employees are mostly local, and we try to book accommodation that is locally owned. This enables individuals the chance to earn a living and support their families.
• We are committed to promoting human rights within our sphere of influence.

Environmental responsibility

• We are committed to trying to reduce, re-use and recycle as much as is possible, from paper to plastics, glass, clothes and particularly composting in our small eco garden. Cooking on gas, we ensure that we take all of our rubbish out of wilderness areas and use proper waste disposal facilities on all tours.
• When visiting any national park or wildlife reserve, we strictly adhere to the well-known saying, ‘take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints’. We do not take away flora and fauna in the forms of cuttings, seeds or roots.
• We ask clients to limit the amount of bottled drinking water they purchase, and drink the local drinking water in order to limit the amount of plastic bottles that are needlessly used. It is known that in Croatian water is extremely clean and available to drink from the tap.

Social responsibility

• We believe our tours should benefit local people and we endeavour to make local culture and communities an integral part of our tours – both in terms of economy and cross-cultural interaction. We actually supply our guest with a booklet with historical and artistic information and recommended shops and restaurants offering the best products. We provide local products on our tours as well as on a self-led tour.
• We also offer yoga lessons and meditation workshops to raise awareness of responsible tourism practices and prepare travellers to minimise negative impact during their tour. In our team we have a licensed scuba diver and we organize snorkelling and scuba diving safaris to improve the awareness of keeping the sea clean. We respond promptly to any queries or complaints.
• We try to minimize the adverse effects of traditional tourism on the natural environment, and enhance the cultural integrity of local people. We support restoration and reconstruction of historically valuable houses and residences on the island.
