How the minimum criteria of the responsible travel standard was met...

Economic responsibility

On our tours in Norway, Hvitserk put effort into using small, locally owned hotels, use local transport (where possible) and buy locally produced food. Hvitserk of Norway has tours all over Norway and uses local guides in the different parts of Norway. Hvitserk of Norway plays an active role in the development of the nature based tourism in Norway and a Hvitserk-initiative has raised 2 million USD to preserve nature on popular Norwegian hikes and also create local work and income out of the unique, Norwegian nature.

For special activities like kayaking and glacier hiking we work with local operators and uses their local guides (instead of competing and putting up our own business)

Local food and local drinks are an important part of our journeys. The shopping (food for the group etc) is done in local stores.

The flights done by Hvitserk of Norway staff and guides are compensated by a tree planting project (The Hvitserk-forest) in Kenya.

Hvitserk are activists and when President Donald Trump made the historic mistake and USA left the Paris Climate Agreement, Hvitserk of Norway donated 200 USD for each American who signed up for the 2017-tours in Norway:
