We start in the volcanic highlands of Puy en Velay where Bishop Godescalc started in 951AD and we follow his path through the Margeride and its Elysian wooded landscape with cows and drystone walls and over the beauty of the high moors of the Aubrac before descending to the river Lot with its castles and abbeys. Suffolk holiday, walking and gastronomy tour

Accommodation, gastronomic meals and drinks and transport are all included. Suffolk epitomises picture-postcard England with its thatched half-timbered villages and coloured houses, clambering, pink roses, flintstone churches and wide horizons painted by Constable and Gainsborough. We wander through the lush countryside, through kissing gates and over styles to pause for lunch in a pub with a pint of bitter or a glass of English organic wine. Stunning churches conjure up the wealth of the wool-trade era as do the half-timbered, crooked houses of its weavers. A week's walk for the pleasure of the countryside but also for those wishing to step back in time and realise that olde England lives ... Read more >
