1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Never having been to this area before, apart from a trip to Venice many years ago, we were very pleasantly surprised at how lovely the countryside is. We also very much enjoyed an easy day trip by bus to Padua which was fascinating.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Our trip was late September. If we were to do this again we would go earlier in the summer when the days are longer and you can enjoy the beautiful views from the hotels in the evening. We would also recommend that for the walk from Teolo to Il Feudo, take the surfaced path/road option. We took the path for the longer route which involved too much time covered in forest with no views, and also paths which, as well as being steep, were very cobbly, and required more concentration than we would wish getting a foothold.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We used local shops for picnic supplies, local coffee shop and bars, and also local pharmacy. We drank locally produced wine with our meals, and would recommend this as they produce some great wines in the region. We used local buses a couple of times which offered good service and good value. It was also great to be using independent local hotels, all of which we would highly recommend.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent. The hotels were all very good, comfortable, great food, lovely views from all of them, and helpful, welcoming staff. The walks were well planned. We felt that we were in the ‘real Italy’ - we only heard other English voices on an English Tour of the University in Padua - and being off the tourist trail was a huge part of the enjoyment for us. This was the first holiday of this type we have done and we really enjoyed it and will definitely do more.Holiday Reviews
