Reviews for Healthcare volunteering in Uganda

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

When I was marking out straight lines of the village's football pitch, the local community joined in to help. it showed me that little things can make a difference and put smile's on people's faces.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Just go and throw yourself fully into the whole experience, the projects you help with and the people you share the house with. Also just relax, things are at a much slower pace so timings can be a issue, but its not really a big deal when you can go look outside and realise there's worse places you could be waiting.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

I Fully believe this, depending on what you do but I know from the previous example in question 1 that you don't need to do major things to make a difference. What seems small to me was massive for them.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

This was a great holiday as I feel I benefitted more from this than what I actually contributed. If you feel in bit of a rut at home this is the perfect experience for you. It had that much affect on me I am looking to find a job abroad doing volunteering or if I can't do that I will go back out there for 6 months.
