Guido Rommens review 8 May 2017
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Watching wolverines and bears very close.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
As you nearly don't sleep at night, it's better to organize a transfer to the next hide instead of driving yourself the hides are very different in term of distance to the bait but also in comfort( some are heated and have good sleepingfacilities, others are terrible and are the same price!!)
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The owners are all local people so certainly a yes.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It's a wildlife tour and that's always inpredictable, we missed the balts of the capercaillies (the main reason for me to go end of april and begin of May).
We did see bears and wolverines and a lot of birds, no wolves the last two weeks. So mixed feelings.
Read the operator's response here:
Iím sorry to hear you didnít manage to see capercaillie courting but as you say, wildlife canít be predicted.
The weather conditions are probably a reason and this spring is a very special, we havenít had that cold spring for over 30 years. What comes to wilderness hides, you had booked partly large ďtouristĒ hides, which are more comfortable but on some nights you stayed in small photography hides, which are more simple and less comfortable but located closer to carcass.
Thatís the reason for the mixed standard you found during your tour.
