1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

My first glimpse of the archeological site at Machu Picchu. It was truly magnificent and my guide was excellent and brought to life the history of the place.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

I was advised to spend a few days in Cusco to adjust to the high altitude and I would recommend that travellers do this. I met several travellers who came straight from Lima and did not allow time to adjust and were quite ill and did not enjoy the trip. Cusco is a lovely place and has many interesting things to see that relate to Machu Picchu and the Inca empire.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

I booked the holiday through Responsible Travel to ensure that would be the case. The hotels that were chosen were all environmentally friendly and employed local people. Some had solar panels and water filtration systems and used local produce.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I had a wonderful holiday and would definitely book through Responsible Travel again.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The trip up to Machu Puchi, our guide Wilfredo was very knowledgeable and stopped to let us drink in the pure awesomeness of it all and when we reached the top the feeling was surreal and brought not just a lump to my throat but a tear to my ear.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take plenty of insect repellent as the mosquitos are in their millions

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Peru's main economy is from mining but all our guides stressed how important tourism is to their country

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

My aim was to complete the new seven wonders of the world before I was 60, this was the last one we had to do so a dream come true. Heather tailored our holiday to meet all our needs, visit all the places we wanted to go within a very tight timeline and cost, she was brilliant
