1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Petra

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take some warm clothes if you are visiting Jordan in Jan/Feb. It snowed on a couple of days and temp were below zero until the sun came through. Don't let the temp put you off as it was a great time to visit with very few tourists around.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Not much done within the country re recycling but we did eat in local restaurants rather than international hotel chains.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Thank you very much for your comments Stuart. That's useful advice for anyone travelling in Jan/Feb. Regarding recycling in Morocco this is something we alert our travellers to in the detailed pre-departure information we send out to everyone before they travel with us. In many of the countries we travel to recycling facilities are very different to what we may be used to in our own home countries. Hence, we advise all our travellers to remove any unnecessary packaging from items they are taking on their trip with them before they travel; to take a reusable water bottle and to use rechargeable batteries or solar powered electrical items. Our Tour Leaders ensure that we generate as little rubbish as possible and that any rubbish we do have is disposed of appropriately. In terms of benefitting local people and supporting conservation we are proud to be working with the Ait Ouhem Association for Development, a local, community-led organisation in the Atlas Mountains. For every Moroccan tour booked we donate 5 per passenger to help the Association achieve its goals of: 1. Building a dispensary in the village to provide people with at least emergency first aid medical supplies. (The nearest hospital is 70 km away). 2. To provide houses with tap water. 3. Encouraging students of the village to continue their studies through buying necessary materials such as bags, books, books, pens. 4. To plant different trees in the mountains all around the village to stop or at least limit erosion. 5. Creating a textile cooperative for women so that they can earn a living that is otherwise not available to them. Thank you again for taking the time to complete this review and we hope that you might choose to travel with us again in the future.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Petra was definitely the highlight, the walk in down The Siq to the Treasury a real wow factor. Wadi Rum jeep drive a close second. A camel ride in Petra and Wadi Rum is not to be missed, we did both. A well balanced trip, with a number of highlights making it very memorable.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Food included was on the whole very good. Don't miss the meal at Basin Restaurent in Petra. Read all the information provided, the Pre-Departure info was very thorough. The fact that we were a very small group of 4 meant that my husband and I (older couple) could take our time, split up with the other two at some of the sites, and re meet later without any problem.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Plenty of opportunities to buy crafts and local goods thus supporting local people. Environmentally very clean and well cared for sites.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Certainly lots of wonderful memories, and thanks again to our lovely driver/ guide, Bashar Harzallah, who looked after us so well all week.
